This tool formants the vocal to make the singer sound younger or older, with a wider throat or narrower, or bigger or smaller diaphragm. To fix this and make the changes sound natural and real the Formant tool can be used. When changing the pitch of a vocal, sometimes it can appear that your changes have made the vocal sound off or strange. This means that if only the start or finish of a note is out of tune, you can pitch drift this specific part into tune. The pitch drift tool allows you to change the tonal bend of the note blob in specific areas of the blob. If it needs to be a more flat note, or you need to exaggerate the bends in the note, the modulation tool can do this. The pitch modulation tool allows you to edit the tonal bend in a note blob. Using the pitch tool screenshot Pitch Modulation & Drift This can allow the editor to correct pitch in vocals mainly, but also in instruments. I used tutorial Melodyne Studio Essentials Training video to refresh my memory from the Melodyne class, and also learn some more skills to greater depth. I started by setting up a session with a clean vocal track from an online asset folder.

While experimenting with the programs, I was able to understand the set up of a Melodyne session, its tools, functions and purposes for a mixing process. Depending on the form of audio being used, you can edit monophonic and polyphonic tracks using different tools such us Melodyne Studio and Melodyne Editor.

if you have any more questions I might be able to clarify, feel free to message me.Melodyne is a program that allows the user to edit the pitch and/or timing of a recording. I hope this review answers whatever questions you have about Melodyne essential.
MELODYNE EDITOR 2 MANUAL UPGRADE
One of the nicest things about Melodyne essential is that if you do decide you want to upgrade to a more full featured version you simply pay the difference in price to do so. A little web surfing and you can find it for a bit less, i got mine for $70. If you buy Melodyne from the Celemony website it's only $99. If you invest in the upgraded versions you will get a few more features, including some very impressive ones but if vocal pitch correction is what you need, why pay for more? On the down side, hotkeys such as ctrl+z that you use without even thinking in your DAW won't work here, there is an undo button but you have to click it. The interface shows you the notes and allows you to select a key to help you identify problems.
MELODYNE EDITOR 2 MANUAL SOFTWARE
It only does a few things so learning to use the software won't take you too long as it's mostly intuitive. Melodyne essential uses the same pitch correction software as it's big brother Melodyne editor so you really are getting a great product for a home studio price. When a singer holds a note and moves up or down there are occasional problems resulting in a less than natural pitch shift, with a little fiddling though you can usually get things pretty good. When it comes to sound quality as long as you're not moving a note more than two semitones it will sound as transparent, or natural, as my ears can detect. You would think this problem wouldn't happen but sometimes it does. I find this especially useful when multiple vocalists are singing the same line and any difference in timing will detract from the song. Quantatize timing automatically or manually (align the notes with the time signature). Split notes and move parts separately as needed. This includes tightening the pitch drift as needed (think vibrato). Touch up the pitch on vocals or any monophonic (one note at a time) instrument.

Rather than focus on what it can't here is what it can do: Melodyne essential is the entry level version of Melodyne editor, a well respected pitch correction software. With Melodyne I can turn ok vocal takes into pretty dang good ones.
